Pest Control

FIFRA application records that complete themselves, plus a recurring contract book.

The short answer

Pest Control is an Odoo app for pest control companies. A service order's application record is a stored computed field, true only when the order carries an applicator licence, has at least one chemical line, and every line has a method, a quantity and an EPA registration number. Jobs missing any of that become a worklist. Sites, a chemical library and recurring contracts priced into monthly revenue sit behind it.

What it is for

An inspector does not audit our completion rate. They pull service orders and read the application records: the applicator's licence number, the product's EPA registration number, how it was applied, how much went down and at what dilution. A job without that is a citable finding, and working out which job it was is normally an afternoon in a filing cabinet. Generic field-service software does not have the concept at all. It has a task, a technician and a stage, and nothing in it can tell us which job is missing its record.

What is inside it

  1. 01

    The record

Completeness is stored and computed, never typed. It needs an applicator licence, at least one chemical line, and every line carrying an application method, a quantity and an EPA reg number. Dilution is captured but deliberately not required.

  2. 02

    The chemical

Each product holds its EPA registration number, active ingredient, target pests and application rate, plus whether it is a Restricted-Use Pesticide, its signal word and its re-entry interval in hours. The Safety Data Sheet attaches to the same record.

  3. 03

    Contracts and MRR

Contracts run monthly, quarterly, biannually or annually with a price per service, and the book rolls into one monthly figure, so a quarterly agreement stops looking like a quarter of a customer.

  4. 04

    The board

The count of jobs missing a record leads, and the percentage sits beside it. A percentage is what you report afterwards; a missing job is something the office can close today.

What it looks like in practice

  1. One missing reg number drops a finished job out of the compliant count

A technician closes a job with its chemical usage lines filled in, except that a gel bait line was saved without its EPA registration number.

A line is complete only with an application method, a quantity and a reg number, and the order is complete only when the licence is present and every line passes. The order leaves the compliant count and appears under the leading tile.

  2. A closed job with a licence and no chemicals at all

Somebody opens a service order, closes it, and never records what went down. The applicator licence is sitting on the record.

The completeness rule carries a clause requiring at least one chemical line, because every member of an empty set satisfies any test. Without that clause the order would pass, and that is the exact shape of a job nobody filled in.

  3. A quarterly agreement should not read as a quarter of a customer

The contract book mixes monthly, quarterly, biannual and annual agreements, each carrying its own price per service.

Every contract's price is converted onto a common month, so the whole book rolls into one recurring figure on the board, and the frequency chart shows how that figure splits.

What it deliberately does not do

No state reporting upload
It holds the record FIFRA asks for. It does not file to any state portal, and every state wants a different format.
No route optimisation
Orders carry a scheduled date and a technician. Sequencing a day's driving is a different product.
No technician mobile app
Technicians work in Odoo's own responsive backend. No offline native client ships with it.
No termite bait-station mapping
Sites carry a type and an area. Per-station coordinates and inspection rounds are not modelled.

Questions

Can I install this on Odoo Online?
No. Odoo Online cannot install modules that contain Python, so this runs on Odoo.sh or a self-hosted instance. Check the versions listed above for the series and edition it is verified against.
Does it submit pesticide use reports to the state?
No. It holds the record FIFRA asks for, on the order, with the licence and every application line beside it. Filing that to a state portal is not built, because every state wants a different format. Pull the orders out and file them the way you file them today.
Is there an app for the truck?
None ships with the module. Technicians work in Odoo's own responsive backend, so a job cannot be written up until the phone has signal. Sequencing the day's driving is out of scope as well: an order carries a scheduled date and a technician, and nothing plans the route.
Does the chemical library arrive with anything in it?
The demo data ships eight products with their real EPA registration numbers, active ingredients and target pests, which is enough to watch the completeness rule work. Loading your own library is the setup step that pays for itself, because every usage line reads from it.
