Crop cycles on a Gantt, one row per field, overdue harvests surfaced.

The short answer

Farm — Crop Cycle Planner adds a drag-and-drop Gantt over crop cycles to the Farm Livestock module, grouped so that each row is a piece of ground. Growers on Odoo Enterprise use it to see which fields are committed, which are standing empty, and which harvests have gone past their expected date. Dragging a bar writes the new planting and harvest dates.

What it is for

A cycle list tells you what is planted. It does not tell you that the field you were about to drill is still carrying something that will not come off for weeks, because that fact lives in the gap between two dates on two different rows. The slipped harvest is the same shape of problem: it is open, its expected date has passed, and a list sorted by planting date puts it nowhere near the top. So the decision about what goes in next gets made from memory, and the ground you thought was free is not.

    The planner

    An Odoo Gantt over crop cycles, grouped by field and drawn from each cycle's own planting and expected-harvest dates. Drag a bar and those two dates move on the record.

    Planning board

    Six tiles about the weeks ahead: cycles in the ground, harvests coming due, harvests already slipped, and how much of your ground is actually committed. Clicking a tile opens the cycles behind it.

What it looks like in practice

  1. One harvest is past its expected date

    A cycle is still open and the date it was meant to come off has gone by. Sorted by planting date, it sits somewhere in the middle of the list.

    The planning board carries an overdue-harvest tile of its own, and clicking it opens exactly the cycles past their expected date. On the timeline that same bar runs beyond today's line on its field row.

  2. Two cycles want the same piece of ground

    A field is still carrying a crop, and the next drilling is being planned onto it anyway.

    Rows are fields, so the cycles appear as bars on one row and the overlap is visible before anyone commits to it. Dragging either bar writes its planting and expected-harvest dates back to the cycle.

  3. Some ground carries nothing at all

    Utilisation says most of the farm is committed. Which parts are not committed is the question no report gets asked.

    Every field gets a row whether or not it holds a cycle, so unused ground reads as blank track across the month rather than as an absence from a list.

What it deliberately does not do

Requires Odoo Enterprise
The Gantt view comes from web_gantt, which only Enterprise ships. On Community the install fails.
Requires Farm Livestock
It draws a planner over Farm Livestock's records. There are no models of its own here, so it is not useful alone.
No agronomy
Rotations, soil, inputs and yield modelling are absent. It plans dates on ground you have already decided to use.
No weather or machinery
Nothing here reads a forecast or books a combine.

Questions

Can I install this on Odoo Online?
No. Odoo Online cannot install modules that contain Python, so this runs on Odoo.sh or a self-hosted instance. Check the versions listed above for the series and edition it is verified against.
Will this work on Odoo Community?
No. The timeline is Odoo's own web_gantt view, which only the Enterprise edition ships, so the module cannot be installed on Community at all. Farm Livestock itself runs fine there; you simply get its lists and dashboard without the drag-and-drop planner on top.
Do I need the Farm Livestock module as well?
Yes. This is a bridge rather than a standalone app: fields, crop cycles and herd records all live in Farm Livestock, and this adds a Gantt view and a planning board over them. Apps will pull Farm Livestock in as a dependency if it is not installed already.
Does it check the weather or book machinery?
No. Nothing in it reads a forecast or reserves a combine, and there is no agronomy either, so rotation, soil and yield modelling stay out of scope. It plans dates on ground you have already chosen, and the expected harvest date is the field everything on the timeline turns on.
